The 2019 Mazda CX-9 seats seven. Buyers can choose from four trim levels: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring and Signature. Front-wheel drive comes standard on all models except the Signature, which gets standard all-wheel drive. The Sport, Touring and Grand Touring trims can choose the optional all-wheel-drive system.

Powering the 2019 Mazda CX-9 is a 2.5-liter inline-four engine that makes 227 hp horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque when fueled with regular gasoline. Using premium gasoline raises the horsepower to 250. Transmission duties are handled by a six-speed automatic.

As you’d expect with a Mazda vehicle, the CX-9 is very fuel-efficient. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2019 Mazda CX-9 with front-wheel drive is 22 mpg city/28 mpg highway, while all-wheel-drive models return 20 mpg city/26 mpg highway.*

The sumptuous cabin features comfortable and supportive seats. Second-row passengers have ample legroom to spread out and stretch their legs. There’s plenty of space to store cargo, with 14.4 cubic feet behind the third row and 38.2 cubic feet with the seats folded.

The Sport trim is the base model, but it still has a nice list of standard features, which includes 18-inch alloys, power windows and door locks, a leather-covered steering wheel and shift knob, a rearview camera, power mirrors, cloth seats, tri-zone air conditioning, auto-off LED headlights, remote keyless entry and rear privacy glass. Other standard features include an infotainment system that features a 7-inch touchscreen, dual USB ports, blind-spot monitoring, Smart City Brake Support and rear cross-traffic alert.

You get more features as you move up the trim-level ladder. At the top of the line, the Signature trim includes amenities like exterior LED accent lighting, Nappa leather seats and genuine wood interior trim.
